AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES IN UNDERSERVED AND UNSERVED AREAS STATEWIDE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the vocational rehabilitation division of the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to expand independent living centers and improve outreach and other services in underserved counties and counties not currently receiving independent living services. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
