AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department in fiscal year 2006 to train parents, teachers, administrators and educational support staff in parental involvement strategies for public schools. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
