AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT A JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM IN WORKPLACE EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the economic development department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for the purpose of supporting a statewide organization to promote junior achievement for middle and senior high school students by establishing workplace mentor relationships between students and businesspersons in the community so the students can have the benefit of direct experience in the business world. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
