AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR INTERN SCHOLARSHIPS AT THE WASHINGTON CENTER FOR INTERNSHIPS AND ACADEMIC SEMINARS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Forty-eight thousand dollars ($48,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for six higher education scholarships of eight thousand dollars ($8,000) each to eligible students at the state four-year post-secondary educational institutions for internship programs of the Washington center for internships and academic seminars in Washington, D.C. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
