AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO FUND ADDITIONAL STAFF AND NECESSARY OVERHEAD EXPENSES FOR THE SEX OFFENDER TREATMENT PROGRAM AT THE LAS VEGAS MEDICAL CENTER.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred fifty-nine thousand dollars ($659,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for six and one-half full-time employees to staff the sex offender treatment program and for overhead expenses related to the additional staff at the Las Vegas medical center. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
