AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY FOR THE TAOS COUNTY AQUIFER MONITORING PROGRAM.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thirty-five thousand dollars ($135,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for the Taos county aquifer monitoring program to design and begin to implement a ground water database repository and design an implementation plan to monitor and network test water wells with the New Mexico bureau of geology and mineral resources of New Mexico institute of mining and technology. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
