AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TWO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT OFFICES AND STAFF TO MONITOR AND PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO NAVAJO CHAPTERS IN NEW MEXICO FOR ORDERLY EXPENDITURE OF CAPITAL FUNDING APPROPRIATED FOR PROJECTS ON THE NAVAJO NATION IN NEW MEXICO.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred sixty thousand dollars ($260,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to establish capital improvement project offices and staff to be located in the eastern Navajo agency area and in the Shiprock Navajo agency area to monitor and provide technical assistance to Navajo Nation chapters in New Mexico for capital projects for which money is appropriated by the New Mexico legislature. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
