A MEMORIAL

DECLARING FEBRUARY 23, 2005 AS "ALBUQUERQUE TECHNICAL-VOCATIONAL INSTITUTE DAY" AT THE LEGISLATURE.

     WHEREAS, since 1965, the Albuquerque technical-vocational institute has provided "education you can use"; and

     WHEREAS, an education from Albuquerque technical-vocational institute has helped hundreds of thousands of individuals improve their quality of life; and

     WHEREAS, Albuquerque technical-vocational institute is considered New Mexico's premier community college; and

     WHEREAS, it is building a regional and national reputation for its high-quality training, innovative programs and positive impact on economic development; and

     WHEREAS, it has earned state and national awards for quality; and

     WHEREAS, it enjoys high satisfaction rates with students, faculty and staff, alumni, employers and the community at-large; and

     WHEREAS, in 2005, Albuquerque technical-vocational institute will celebrate forty years of successful community outreach;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 23, 2005 be declared "Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute Day" at the legislature.
