SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 313 proposes to amend board composition from three public members and two pro-
fessional members to two public members and three professional members, and to remove li-
cense renewal date which is currently December 31. The bill proposes new language which
would specify that licenses would have to be renewed annually, but would not include a specific
date.
Significant Issues
The board advocates that the membership of the board should include a majority of licensed de-
signers rather than the public.
According to the Regulations and Licensing Department, the removal of “succeeding December
31” will allow the board the opportunity to change the renewal date by rule.
