SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Joint Memorial 103 requests the members of the New Mexico congressional delegation to
encourage the U.S. Department of Agriculture not to reopen the United States borders to imports
of Canadian cattle until protections are in place.
Within this request, the joint memorial notes specific limitations and conditions to be transmitted
to the congressional delegation under which Canadian live cattle, beef and beef byproducts may
enter the United States and further encourages the United State to reestablish United States beef
and beef by-product exports to Japan, Korea and Mexico.
