SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 439 amends the Motor Vehicle Code to require that temporary permits be displayed
to the inside left rear window of the vehicle. Current law requires these permits to be displayed
in the same manner as a registration plate.
Significant Issues
The Motor Vehicle Division issues temporary permits for a variety of reasons, including for use
by drivers whose applications for registration and certification of title are pending and for car
dealers.
DPS indicates that this change may assist law enforcement to more easily identify temporary per-
mits.
