SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 528 appropriates $65 thousand from the general fund to the Indian Affairs Depart-
ment for a capital projects field technician. An emergency clause is included.
Significant Issues

The bill provides an additional staff person to the Indian Affairs Department to work primarily
on capital outlay issues with the Tribal entities. The staff person is to provide technical assis-
tance to Tribes on developing scopes of works, joint powers agreements, and it is also to coordi-
nate with tribal councils to get necessary approvals on capital outlay projects. In addition, the
