SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Joint Memorial 5 requests U.S. Congress to provide funding to assist businesses in im-
plementing the access components of the Americans with Disabilities Act, especially buildings
with historical significance
Significant Issues
The Governor’s Commission on Disability comments the joint memorial would provide:
1)
incentive for businesses, especially small businesses, to fully implement
the barrier removal provisions of the ADA
2)
better access to local businesses would enhance profitability
3)
better access would provide potential employment for people with dis-
abilities
