Synopsis of Bill
Senate Memorial 28 – Declaring February 23, 2005 as “Albuquerque Technical – Vocational In-
stitute Day at the Legislature” – observes that:
since 1965, the Albuquerque technical-vocational institute has provided "educa-
tion you can use";
an education from Albuquerque technical- vocational institute has helped hun-
dreds of thousands of individuals improve their quality of life;
Albuquerque technical-vocational institute is considered New Mexico's premier
community college;
it is building a regional and national reputation for its high-quality training, in-
novative programs and positive impact on economic development;
it has earned state and national awards for quality;

it enjoys high satisfaction rates with students, faculty and staff, alumni, employ-
ers and the community at-large; and
in 2005, Albuquerque technical-vocational institute will celebrate forty years of
successful community outreach.
In light of the above factors, this memorial resolves that February 23, 2005 is declared "Albu-
querque Technical-Vocational Institute Day" at the legislature.
