A JOINT MEMORIAL

EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE PASEO DEL NORTE AND INTERSTATE 25 INTERCHANGE.

     WHEREAS, completion of the long-awaited extension of Paseo del Norte on the west side of Albuquerque will alleviate traffic congestion and support economic development; and

     WHEREAS, future population growth on the west side of the city will require further infrastructure improvements to roads, bridges and interchanges; and

     WHEREAS, a critical interchange for residents of and visitors to the west side of Albuquerque is the interchange at Paseo del Norte and interstate 25;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that support be expressed for the funding from federal, state and local governments to improve the interchange at Paseo del Norte and interstate 25; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the members of the New Mexico congressional delegation, the state transportation commission and the Albuquerque city council.
