AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO RESTORE ACCESS TO CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ten million two hundred thousand dollars ($10,200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to fund child care assistance for eligible families with household incomes up to two hundred percent of the federal poverty level. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
