AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO SUPPORT A SCHOOL BUS SAFETY COMPETITION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to support a program that encourages school bus drivers to develop their skills and knowledge through participation in a national competition. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
