AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR DISTANCE AND VIRTUAL SCHOOL IN THE RATON PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred five thousand dollars ($305,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to implement a distance learning and virtual learning alternative school curriculum in the Raton public schools that complies with the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and accommodates the needs of specific student populations identified by the Raton board of education. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
