FOR THE LEGISLATIVE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE VETERANS' SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO EXPAND POSTTRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER PROGRAMS FOR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the veterans' services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 to expand posttraumatic stress disorder programs and services provided by qualified and experienced mental health workers to address the needs of families. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
