AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR A CONSORTIUM OF UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 for a consortium of universities and research institutions in the state to enhance relationships, encourage collaboration on research and education issues that impact the state and ensure that those represented are not redundant in their efforts on identical projects. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
