AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Three million two hundred twenty-nine thousand three hundred dollars ($3,229,300) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2007 in the following amounts for the following purposes:

                (1) five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for the Ben Lujan leadership and public policy institute;

                (2) four hundred thirty-three thousand one hundred dollars ($433,100) for the New Mexico forest and watershed restoration institute;

                (3) three hundred eighty-eight thousand dollars ($388,000) for the Spanish program;

                (4) six hundred eighty thousand dollars ($680,000) for the technology training institute and regional communications hub;

                (5) eight hundred four thousand seven hundred dollars ($804,700) for the northeastern New Mexico economic development meta-center; and

                (6) four hundred twenty-three thousand five hundred dollars ($423,500) for athletics.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
