SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
New Mexico MESA, an incorporated non-profit organization is part of a national initiative pro-
moting educational enrichment for pre-college students from historically under-represented eth-
nic groups. The MESA program provides career and mentoring support throughout the year for
middle, junior and high school students. Other activities that are supported through MESA in-
clude tutoring, independent study, university and career counseling, field trips, and competitive
and leadership building workshops and events.
