SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 178 appropriates $200,000 from the general fund to the Board of Regents of New
Mexico Highlands University to continue to design, develop and provide a pilot program to de-
liver a language and culture program that is integrated with professional development curricula
to prepare graduates for cross-border business and governmental opportunities.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $200,000 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007shall revert to
the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
This line-item proposal is not included in the Executive budget recommendation or in the LFC’s
appropriation recommendations.
