AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE TO DEVELOP TRIBAL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION CENTERS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million two hundred thousand dollars ($1,200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for the cooperative extension service for the start-up costs of five proposed tribal cooperative extension centers to provide a base for intercultural youth programs, health-based programs and natural resource and agricultural information services that are currently not available in the targeted New Mexico tribal communities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
