FOR THE INDIAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR RESEARCH AND TEACHING OF THE NAVAJO LANGUAGE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred seventy-seven thousand eight hundred eighty-six dollars ($277,886) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for a program of research and teaching of the Navajo language. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
