AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE STRESS REDUCTION AND STRESS MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifteen thousand dollars ($315,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to fund a program for stress reduction and stress management for law enforcement officers and other first responders, using Santa Fe-based clinical staff with expertise in treating acute and post-traumatic stress disorders to educate personnel in up to seven agencies and establishing a continuing education credit credential for such training. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
