FOR THE LEGISLATIVE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR RURAL HEALTH PROVIDER CONSULTATION AND SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CENTERS WORKING TO PREVENT AND TREAT CHILDHOOD OBESITY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for the health sciences center pediatric department's telehealth programs to help rural health providers and school-based health centers to treat and prevent childhood obesity through telehealth consultation. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
