AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ESTABLISH HEALTH COOPERATIVE EXTENSION OFFICES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to develop, in conjunction with the university of New Mexico health sciences center, a comprehensive joint plan for a sustainable health cooperative extension rural office system to serve ten rural county extension offices, in collaboration with community partners, to address local health priorities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
