FOR THE LEGISLATIVE EDUCATION STUDY COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM PROGRAM.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state parks division of the energy, minerals and natural resources department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to support a statewide public school outdoor classroom program. The program is intended to encourage participation and improve performance in math and science. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
