AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT PROGRAMS IN EASTERN NEW MEXICO COUNTIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 and subsequent fiscal years for a regional alcohol detoxification and treatment center in De Baca county and for alcohol and substance abuse treatment continuum of care initiatives in Curry, De Baca, Guadalupe, Harding, Quay, Roosevelt, San Miguel and Union counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
