AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR YOUTH PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND SUICIDE PREVENTION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 and subsequent fiscal years to contract with a youth commission based in Las Vegas, New Mexico, for youth programs focused on substance abuse and suicide prevention that involve training youth in government so that they can train their peers in other communities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
