AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR CHARTER SCHOOL STUDENTS ENGAGED IN CAREER DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIPS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to pay stipends to students at charter schools chartered by the Albuquerque public school district who are engaged in construction, culinary arts and other career development internships. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
