AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO MARKET NEW MEXICO AS A TOURIST DESTINATION THROUGH SPONSORSHIP OF THE NEW MEXICO BOWL; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Nine hundred thousand dollars ($900,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the tourism department for marketing of New Mexico as a tourist destination to the nation through sponsorship of the New Mexico bowl in the following manner:

                (1) for expenditure in fiscal year 2007, three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000); and

                (2) for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 and 2009, six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000).

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.

     Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
