AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A SUPPLEMENTARY DWI COURSE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the traffic safety bureau of the department of transportation for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to support a supplementary six-hour DWI course within one year following a convicted offender's completion of the initial DWI education program in order to help prevent the problem of repeat offenders. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
