AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A PREVENTIVE HEALTH PILOT PROGRAM IN RURAL AREAS OF NORTHWEST NEW MEXICO THAT WORKS TO IDENTIFY AND IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF PERSONS WITH DIABETES, HEART DISEASE, OBESITY OR OTHER PREVENTABLE HEALTH CONDITIONS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to fund a preventive health pilot program in rural areas of northwest New Mexico that works to identify and improve the health of persons who suffer from diabetes, heart disease, obesity or other preventable health conditions. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
