AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR EMERGENCY SNOW REMOVAL AND COSTS OF REPAIRS DURING WINTER STORMS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal years 2007 and 2008 by the town of Clayton to pay for emergency snow removal, including costs of repairing streets, curbs, gutters, town property and buildings from winter storms. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.

     Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
