AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY FOR A BORDER SECURITY SYSTEM TO TRACK MOVEMENTS OF HUMANS AND ANIMALS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred seventy thousand dollars ($770,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to pay for the energetic materials research and testing center to develop a border security system for the tracking of human and animal movements. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
