AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A YOUTH-ORIENTED MULTICULTURAL BILINGUAL THEATER COMPANY TO PRODUCE AND TOUR PLAYS BY AND FOR NEW MEXICANS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the arts division of the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to contract with an Albuquerque-based youth-oriented multicultural bilingual theater company to produce plays written by New Mexicans and perform them in underserved communities in the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
