AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ENSURE THAT UNINSURED PERSONS MAY BENEFIT FROM THE NURSE ADVICE LINE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for the health sciences center for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to expand the nurse advice line to cover uninsured callers who seek advice from registered nurses but whose expense is not met with funding from any of the other private or public funders of the advice line. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
