    Your BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 297

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 2, line 22, after "subjects", insert "such as workplace safety and general business operations. All continuing education curricula and instructors must be preapproved by the commission based on recommendations by the division. The criteria for approval shall include affiliation with professional associations or organizations representing the construction trades".

     2. On page 3, between lines 19 and 20 insert the following new section:

     “Section 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.–-The effective date of the provisions of this act is July 1, 2008.”.
