AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT AND EXPAND COMMUNITY SERVICE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS STATEWIDE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to support a regional center network throughout the state to support teachers and community educators in incorporating community service learning into standards-based education by providing coordinated training, technical assistance and project support. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
