AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN PROMOTING THE VALUE OF COLLEGE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three million dollars ($3,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to launch a public awareness campaign on the value of college. The campaign shall target people of all ages about the value of continuing their education. The campaign shall be planned by a coordinating team of state, tribal, national, business, nonprofit and student representatives. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
