AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR INTENSIVE MATH INTERVENTION PROGRAMS FOR LOW-PERFORMING MIDDLE SCHOOLS, INCLUDING TRAINING FOR TEACHERS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three million dollars ($3,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to provide intensive math intervention programs for low-performing middle schools, including training for teachers, as well as a web-based component, a connection between home and school and a live, web-based math competition. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
