AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONTINUE A SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR NATIVE AMERICAN STUDENTS PURSUING TEACHING DEGREES AND CERTIFICATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four million five hundred thousand dollars ($4,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 through 2010 to continue a scholarship program for Native American students pursuing a teaching degree or administrative licensure or a graduate degree with a concentration in Indian education. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
