AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT A STATEWIDE EDUCATION AND PREVENTION PROGRAM FOR YOUTH REGARDING METHAMPHETAMINE USE OR ABUSE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million two hundred thousand dollars ($2,200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to contract to provide programming to reduce risky behaviors of youth through education about and prevention of methamphetamine use or abuse in each of the four geographic quadrants of New Mexico to be implemented in at least twenty-five locations. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
