AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT OF INDIAN EDUCATION STATEWIDE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to do an assessment of Indian education statewide, including all New Mexico tribes, nations and pueblos. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
