AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF A REGIONAL WATER UTILITY AUTHORITY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for the water resources research institute to study the feasibility of and prepare legislation to create a regional water utility authority. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
