AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PETROLEUM RECOVERY RESEARCH CENTER AT NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred ten thousand dollars ($410,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 and subsequent fiscal years for the petroleum recovery research center to use as a mandatory match for a sixty-seven-million-dollar ($67,000,000) grant from the United States department of energy over the next ten years for carbon sequestration. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
