SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 543 would appropriate $250.0 to the Local Government Division of the Department
of Finance & Administration for a Bernalillo County workforce development program for youth.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $250.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the
General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The Office of Workforce Training and Development currently allocates funding from the
Workforce Investment Act to serve the youth population.

ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The Office of Workforce Training and Development notes that it may be better suited to
administer the appropriation due to its experience with such programs and because it currently
administers programs under the federal Workforce Development Act.
