SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 798 appropriates $400.0 from the General Fund to DFA for law enforcement athletic
programs.
Synopsis of Amendment
The amendment strikes “local government division of the department of finance and
administration" and inserts “department of public safety for expenditure in fiscal year 2008."
The amendment also clarifies that the funds appropriated would be available stateside.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $400.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the
General Fund.

SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
DFA reported that the money in HB 798 would be used for purchasing of equipment and for
administrative support for law enforcement personnel who would help support local sports
programs for kids in the community.
